Fear Not : The Shepherds | Matthew Teigrob

Dec 21, 2025    Matt Teigrob

In a world filled with busyness, pressure, and uncertainty, many of us are quietly asking the same question: Where can real joy be found?

This message takes us to Luke 2, where God chooses an unexpected audience for one of the greatest announcements in history. Shepherds—ordinary, overlooked, and marginalized—are the first to hear the angel’s words: “Fear not.” These words are more than comfort; they are an invitation to receive good news that changes everything.

The announcement that a Savior has been born is not just a moment from the Christmas story—it is the foundation of joy that doesn’t rise and fall with our circumstances. The shepherds, whose daily lives offered little reason for celebration, encounter a joy rooted not in ease or success, but in the presence and promise of Christ.

As we walk through this passage, we’re invited to reflect on our own search for joy in a world marked by anxiety, disappointment, and fear. The birth of Jesus speaks directly to our deepest need—not for temporary happiness, but for a lasting, soul-deep joy that comes from knowing we are not alone and that a Saviour has come for us.

▶️ Watch, reflect, and be encouraged to rediscover the joy that begins with Christ and carries us through every season of life.
