Daniel: Faithfulness In Exile | Wes Hodgson

In Daniel 4, we see one of history's most powerful kings brought to his knees -- not by an army, but by his own pride. Nebuchadnezzar had it all: a breathtaking city, unmatched power, and divine warnings he chose to ignore. But as Pastor Wes reminded us tonight, pride always comes before a fall -- you just never know when that fall will come.

God's heart is not to oppose us -- it is to lead us through kindness toward repentance (Romans 2:4). He extended grace to Nebuchadnezzar again and again before allowing the consequences of pride to run their course. And even then, restoration was waiting on the other side of humility.

The question for all of us is simple: will you humble yourself, or will you wait for God to do it for you? As 1 Peter 5:5-6 reminds us, God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. The choice is always ours -- and the time to choose is always now.
